Attitude makes habit, habit makes a character and character makes a person...

Mahatma Gandhi once said... “Keep your thoughts positive because your thoughts becomes your words, keep your words positive because your words become your behaviour".....

This is similar to the phrase “Attitude makes habit, habit makes a character and character makes a person”

Let’s look into each one individually…

WHAT IS AN ATTITUDE?

Attitude is a person’s perspective, which defines the way we think or feel anything. It is a viewpoint, a mindset, or a way of valuing life.  Attitude cannot be developed within a day or two, it had to be developed in one's childhood or has to develop in the future before it's too late.

HOW CAN AN ATTITUDE BE DEVELOPED?

The answer is simple, it takes time but the thought process that is carried out by a person in his or her childhood, will automatically lead to attitude development.  In other words, it refers to the way a person thinks, feels, or bespeak by his or her behavior.

WHAT IS A HABIT?

Habit is a routine of behavior that is hourly happening and tends to occur subconsciously. According to the American Journal of Psychology habit is defined as "Habit is a more or less predetermined way of thinking, willing or feeling acquired through foregoing repetition of a life experience."

In unembellished words “Habit is a certain practice which is hard to give up since it is developed through ages”

WHAT IS A CHARACTER?

The mental and moral distinctive to an individual is known as character. In other words, character is one's moral qualities or traits

According to the research 85%of, people with great character are successful in life. A character in a person is generally born with the culture and ethics of the family, surroundings, gratitude towards others language usage, dressing sense, etc…. The attitude and habit also get considered as the key points for a good character.

Another salient thing to remember is “A good character is developed when a good attitude and a good habit is learned, and also when one handles the situation on a positive note rather than a negative or offensive note”

Before I conclude, let me take a few words of Lao Tzu...

Watch your thoughts; they lead to attitude. Watch your attitude; they lead to words. Watch your words; they lead to actions. Watch your actions; they lead to habits. Watch your habits; they form your character.  Watch your character; it determines your destiny.
